👋🏼 I'm Abdul (Abs). Yes, the nickname is ironic. I'm a London-based investor exploring all things tech. I was most recently at Keen Venture Partners investing seed to series B. I was lucky to build relationships with, work alongside, and invest in some incredible teams.

Before that, I spent five years in investment banking doing M&A across a bunch of different sectors. I survived late nights on crappy vending machine coffee, learning how to get s--t done and eating that "s--t sandwich with a smile". After years of 2am finishes, cranking out models and pitchbooks, feeling like I had learned enough about excel shortcuts and moving logos M&A, I moved to a fintech working across corp dev, strategy and partnerships. I worked on our EV product, realised we sucked at building products and instead invested in a start-up that built that product. Thus catching the investing bug there.

I was born in Pakistan but grew up in Yorkshire, England. I love biriyani as much as a good Sunday roast. I grew up on video games, street cricket, football and hip hop music. Nas' Illmatic is my favourite album. I'm a (suffering) Man Utd fan. (I write quite a bit in parentheses). I never learned to swim but I'm working on it. I'm learning to produce music, something I wanted to do as a teenager but instead opted for a bootlegged copy of Photoshop CS and Dreamweaver vs. Ableton / Fruity Loops.

And finally me 👌🏼

I previously posted another blog on Ghost about my investments but I like the simplicity and speed of Bear. This blog is a collection of thoughts and essays (sometimes rants), mostly on tech related things. Things I'm interested in include AI, vertical SaaS, critical industries, fintech, gaming and emerging markets (SE Asia in particular). Open to meet and speak to people on any of the above, food, music and angel investing.
